Overview
This has to be one tool I do not know how I lived without it in my toolbox. Have you ever had a leak behind your engine but you could not see it without taking things off and out of your way so you could have a line of sight?
Have you ever needed to check your pistons to check after a timing issue? Well, I can say I have on both of those and all within 60 days.
That is what gave me a clear indication that I needed to look into getting a boroscope. Now normal boroscopes are $100+, but this boroscope is a whopping $14!!!
I mean, how can you turn a price like that away?! So I wanted to look into it, it has excellent reviews, and the idea of it being an Android boroscope sounded cool. But does it work correctly and can I use it on a daily occurrence if I need to on the vehicles we are flipping?
The many uses of this item tells me this was a good investment for myself and you as well! The amount of money you can save yourself by finding the reason behind a stuck drain. Even using the boroscope on your vehicle will save you thousands of dollars in labor.
I am delighted with my purchase, and you will definitely see pictures and video from this camera on my vehicle repair articles and YouTube videos! Here is the link on Amazon to the boroscope and USB-C type adapters in case you need them.
Camera
This camera has a great display onto the screen of your android and is measured at 7mm instead of the competitor’s size of 8.5mm.
But this boroscope has a great adapter needed option that sets it apart from its competitors, and that is, it takes pictures and video!
For everyone that says well yeah it is my phone? I agree with you on that, but the impressive part is that you get to take pictures on this camera by only spending $14 for the camera!
This picture was of the timing chain on a 2004 Ford Taurus, just showing how great the image comes out at 2.36 inches!
Milwaukee has their boroscope for sale at Home Depot for $199, and Harbor Freight even has theirs for $75, but none take pictures of what you are looking at.
The resolution on this camera is 640 by 480, the camera that this boroscope is equipped with is waterproof and takes the pictures and video in High Definition to give you the best picture available.
One key thing that I almost forgot about is that you have to download an application on your phone. You can find the app on the Play Store to use the camera, but that is definitely not a deal-breaker either.
The observation distance for the camera is 2.36 inches, this distance will give you a beautiful bright and detailed picture.
The length on the cameras cable is 5 feet which are 2 feet longer than leading competitors.
This camera has 6 LED lights to brighten up the darkest of places so you can diagnose the problem correctly the first time to decrease repeat calls and repairs.

Quality
I am very impressed with the quality of this item, and the options that it has available are excellent.
With the cable being able to be flexed and bent to meet the needs of the job at hand, I wanted to make sure it would not fall apart after continued use.
I took another picture here of the inside of the combustion chamber, this camera has 6 adjustable LED lights on it. They definitely help out in a dark place! Also, CameraFI is the app you will need to use for this camera.
Especially since I am using this tool to work on vehicles, I want to make sure I do not have to continue replacing it.
Just make sure you keep track of your attachments and your camera clean, so you can see clearly at all times.
Here is the present-day price on Amazon for the boroscope and the USB-C type adapters in case you need them with your phone.

Any Attachments?
Yes! This item comes with attachments that you can put at the end of your camera as well.
The company includes a magnet for those bolts that fell or something else that fell in a dark place.
No need to fret now because you are covered if that ever happens again to you. Remember your camera is waterproof so if you drop something that is currently in water that you can’t reach your boroscope can!
The camera also comes with a mirror so you can see around a corner easier, which I had to when inspecting my piston head and valves.
Then lastly the company has thrown in a hook for your camera for more of those retrieval jobs that you have out of your reach; now you have it covered.

Yes, yes, yes! I would definitely repurchase this item. I love the quality of the pictures that this item can take for me and I like that I can use my phone so I have a better display to look at when using my camera.
The $199 Milwaukee inspection camera displays in 640×480 just like this unit does, and the display screen is 2.7 inches big. 2.7 inches? Is that a bolt I am looking at or a drain plug?
Why would I want to strain my eyes when I can look at my Samsung Note 9 screen and take pictures as I did for this article.
All pictures in this article were taken with my inspection camera. I did have to pay $5 extra for the C type attachments since the plug it has is a micro-USB but still not a deal-breaker for me.
There are many ways you can use this product with your everyday life, your career, or just at home.
A few of those options would be looking down a drain to see why it is clogged or looking behind a wall for a specific wire, there are just so many ways to use this boroscope!
